After getting COVID, Spencer Waldner contracted an unexpected side effect: he couldn’t stop telling the truth.
Desperate to be “fixed,” he sought professional help from a therapist. But as his sessions unfolded, Spencer spiraled into revealing every secret he swore to keep buried forever; most notably his attraction to older (much older) men.
DADDY ISSUES is a bold, darkly comedic solo show about identity, upbringing, and what happens when the stories we tell ourselves stop protecting us. Spencer plays three characters—his present self, his past self, and his therapist—using nothing but a chair, a coat, and a facemask to build an entire world from scratch. The audience becomes his therapist in real time.
Fresh from a sold out and critically acclaimed run at Hollywood Fringe, the show arrives in Edinburgh with audiences saying:
“I was spellbound.” – Donald Freed, Edinburgh Festival Prize Winner
“Hilarious one man show that wears its heart on its sleeve.” – Mary Bonney, Hollywood Fringe 2026 Panelist
“Poignant and beautifully written.” – Dan Ruth, Top Fringe Pick / LA Hidden Gems
You can catch DADDY ISSUES at Clover Studio at Greenside @ Riddles Court on August 7th – 29th from 11:20 (60mins). Tickets are available through the EdFringe Online Box Office.
