REVIEW: Bigfoot Ripped My Dog In Half I Saw It, Xhloe and Natasha, Soho Theatre, SoHo Playhouse, EdFringe 2026 ★★★

Two teenage girls have run into a stop sign. Or have they? Wait, there’s a Dairy Queen. And also the water isn’t safe to drink. A dog is ripped in half. Oh, and everyone thinks Bigfoot is runnin around town. 

You don’t need me to tell you that Xhloe and Natasha are back with a bang, because the proverbial town criers have been announcing such news at the top of their lungs for months. It’s a joy to see them back onstage with a new show, and dare I say it, one with a different edge…

Don’t panic, all the hallmarks of an X&N show are here in full force. Maximum energy choreography meets whippersnapper paced dialogue meets super f*cking cool costumes. Patchwork is so back. 

Don’t forget about the spectacular WTF moments, consisting mostly of a big stop sign. The trickery and sleight of hand that these two bring to the stage is like nothing else. They assign a boldness to every action that is rivalled by no-one else currently in the business (of show). 

Speaking of boldness, there seems a concerted effort to push the narrative aspect in this new show in comparison to previous top-hits. Still with their much-loved non-linear approach, Bigfoot Ripped My Dog In Half I Saw It pushes character and story in a way that encourages us to understand, to go along with the threads they’re weaving together. To attempt this is to lose some of the mesmerising absurdity that they do best. 

Their leaning into almost naturalism by way of the script results in some hit-and-miss comedic moments. It was clear from the crowd that some spectators were lapping up every character, as if part of a Bigfoot fan club, while the rest of us looked on, struggling to find the comedy in those earnestly signposted moments. 

With that in mind, it was at times difficult to dissect the performance, to really listen and let the actors harbour a dark, spooky atmosphere. And with so much information to digest, it detracted from the intended impact. 

Lest we forget, the standard that Xhloe and Natasha have set for themselves is sky high, and not every album will go straight to number one. Still, don’t they always say great art divides opinion?

Recommended Drink: Not the water… I guess.
