Mr Rogers meets Broadway — that’s the heart of Vasthy & Friends: Sing, Dance, Play! A joyful, interactive family musical created by eight-time Broadway performer Vasthy Mompoint, and inspired by the warm, wholesome children’s entertainment of the 80s/90s (with a big, modern, inclusive twist).
This is a morning dance party for tiny humans (and their grown-ups) who don’t want to sit still. From the first beat, kids are invited to sing along, learn simple choreography, and jump into playful call-and-response moments that build confidence, connection, and lots of giggles.
Along the way, we explore big feelings in a gentle, age-appropriate way—helping little ones practice naming emotions and discovering tools that help them feel safe, seen, and supported.
At its core, Vasthy & Friends is about belonging. The show celebrates cultures from around the world through music and movement, with a vibrant, multicultural cast and plenty of audience participation. It’s also designed to be sensory-aware and neurodivergent-friendly, with flexible, no-pressure involvement: wiggles welcome, breaks welcome, and every family gets to choose their own level of participation.
Come for the bubbles and the bops—stay for the kindness, community, and that “we all belong here” feeling that follows you out of the theatre.
You can catch Vasthy & Friends: Sing, Dance, Play! at Dram at Gilded Balloon Patter House until August 31st from 10:20 (60mins). Tickets are available through the EdFringe Online Box Office.
