Lucy Best: Unbelievable premiered as part of the Melbourne International Fringe Festival in 2025 and has been touring Australia since, to critical acclaim. Originally from the UK, Best is returning home to appear at Edinburgh Festival Fringe for the first time.
In Lucy Best: Unbelievable, Best unpacks a treasure trove of true tales from her unconventional life. Described as an ADHD fever dream that somehow manages to tie all the loose ends together for a satisfactory conclusion, audiences are taken on a rollercoaster ride through the embarrassing, the unexpected, and the hilarious moments that make up the rich tapestry of life.
Through captivating storytelling, clowning, impressions, and songs Best explores themes of sexuality, race, class, and neurodivergence through her incredible true tales. Audiences are invited to imagine a world where, instead of using labels and identities to divide us, we endeavour to accept others and focus instead on what we have in common.
Underpinning the show is the sad (but 100% true) story of the time Best held a baby dolphin as it died. However rest assured you’ll be kept laughing as Best shares surprising, hard to believe, and side-splitting anecdotes along the way.
