Sam, obsessed with space and stuck in middle-of-nowhere BC, is given a shocking out-of-this world opportunity the night of her 14th birthday. An alien (who looks suspiciously like her missing mother) visits and promises a whirlwind adventure with deadly repercussions. How to Believe in Anything is a show about the dangerous beliefs our minds will create in order to protect us from what hurts. It’s also about aliens, being in love with your best friend, and intergenerational trauma. Sam’s journey is an outlet and avengement for all sexual assault/abuse survivors. It looks at what happens to your brain when you don’t have the language to process difficult things, and how we cope with losing people we love.

Winner of the Cultchivating the Fringe Award at the 2022 Vancouver Fringe Festival. Described by Jay Minter from On The List: “[It] could be the synopsis of an M. Night Shyamalan film, an engaging thriller touching on sci-fi, supernatural, horror, and fantasy, leaving us wanting the sequel to find out what lays ahead for young Sam” and by Stir Magazine as “one of those shows you ponder long after it’s over.”
