At the edge of ecological collapse, HUELLA (imprint) unfolds around an ambiguous waterfall carrying the memory of water, within a liminal landscape of technofossils, somewhere between an altered present and a future archive. The waterfall narrates its own transformation and the histories of human and more-than-human lives that have inhabited its landscape.

What remains of a waterfall when the water itself may have disappeared?

Through eco-poetic symbolism, the danced-performance-installation of textural and flamenco soundscapes revisits our sensory experience of water, its transformations and its absence.

It explores bodies and landscapes in dissonance, porous to one another, permeated by nostalgia for landscapes in transformation, and haunted by the trace of the waterfall.

HUELLA’s movement language draws on the poetics of Arms Control, the geometries of New Way Vogue, flamenco aesthetics and somatics. These languages become expressive vessels Isadora draws upon to embody sensations and inhabit states of being.

The waterfall’s material and geological memory enters into dialogue with poetic and cultural memory. Lorca’s poetry also runs as an undercurrent.

Isadora is a French-Tunisian artist working across performance, sound and installation. Her work has received support from The Place, Instituto Cervantes, English National Ballet’s Shared Ground Space Scheme. She is a Vogue performer, member of the Iconic House of Milan.

HUELLA carries the converging realities of water’s transformation into a speculative landscape where little remains, its flow displaced by synthetic matter and contaminants, encompassing plastiglomerates, freshwater plastisphere, pollutants, and water scarcity intensified by AI systems and data centres.

You can catch HUELLA at The Cockpit on November 8th from 5pm (45mins). Tickets are available through the Voila! Theatre Festival Online Box Office.
