Victoria Scone is part of the ensemble of Drag performers taking to the stage with Acid’s Reign at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe next month, joined by Scarlett Harlett and Gigi Zahir. The show follows a drag supergroup intent on challenging climate change, but struggle to find relevance and funding for tackling the climate crisis. When commercial opportunity knocks, the company faces a reckoning: stay radical or stay visible? We caught up with Victoria to find out more about what audiences can expect.

Shay: Hi Victoria, tell us about Acid’s Reign and why you have decided to bring this to the stage now?
Victoria: I remember watching the most recent version of the show at The Pleasance London (prior to this new iteration) in early 2025 and fell in love with the production! To be a part of this reimagining of the project AND as a new musical is simply a dream come true. Thank you theatre gods! (Angela Lansbury maybe?)
Shay: How has the creative process been of putting the show together? Give us an idea of the journey you’ve been on with it so far.
Victoria: The journey of creating the show has been the most mind-tingling, inspiring experience of my career without a doubt. Getting to have even a small part in developing my character ‘Alex Acid’ with the creatives in the room is so rewarding & stimulating as an actor. I’m already grieving the end of my time with the show as ‘Alex’ and it has only just begun!
Shay: What will be the first thing the audience sees, feels, and hears as they enter the space?
Victoria: I hope audiences feel the raw electricity they are about to experience when they walk into the space. I remember first seeing the incredible set designs by ‘Good Teeth’ and getting goosebumps! It perfectly sets the tone of the show & can’t wait to get into the space with the full set, costume, sound & lighting design!
Shay: What are you hoping the audience might take away from the experience, if anything?
Victoria: For me personally I would love audiences to walk away having experienced a wonderful story of queer relationships/friendship, of being perfectly imperfect & most importantly feel thoroughly entertained!!
Shay: What journey has the show been on to find itself at EdFringe 2026?
Victoria: I am personally only joining the production now in 2026 but was fortunate enough to see the production in early 2025. This does mean I have a reflection on how much the show has evolved since then! It’s bursting at the seams with original musical numbers & choreography (that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed sinking my teeth into). I feel like the character arcs are more thoroughly fleshed out now & can’t wait for audiences to fall in love with (and potentially despise) us!
Shay: With EdFringe now just around the corner, what are you most excited for?
Victoria: Pub! – specifically at around 5pm every day! (Acids reign is on at 3:45 at the Pleasance Courtyard Forth) but honestly I’m so excited to do this show every day. It’s an absolute killer stamina wise & I can safely say I’ve never been in love with a show quite as much as I am with this production. It’s like our writer, Evie Fehilly, poked around in my brain to find exactly what I would ever want to do as an Actor. Be insufferably diva-ish mostly!
Shay: Given the themes of Binge Fringe, if your show was a beverage of any kind (alcoholic, non-alcoholic – be as creative as you like!), what would it be and why?
Victoria: I am partial to a cheeky venom & feel that almost writes itself (Acids Reign). Although I’m actually much more of a Bloody Mary girl myself.. and with the blood on the hands of those killing the planet.. how poetic!
