Why will audiences connect with Homecumming?

Because beneath the cheeky title and the playful premise lies something deeply human: the fear of losing yourself — and the hope of finding your way back.

Homecumming follows a woman who loses her orgasms… and loses herself. While orgasms are the inciting incident (and an entertaining one), they’re really an invitation into a much larger conversation about mental health, depression, shame, and self-worth. This is not a play about sex (maybe a little) — it’s a play about healing.

Inspired by real life, Homecumming explores the taboos surrounding female sexuality with honesty, humour, and tenderness. Her journey is messy, funny, sexy, vulnerable, and painfully relatable. Through therapy, self-reflection, and a growing desire to reconnect with herself, she begins a transformation — from caterpillar to butterfly — rediscovering her joie de vivre.

Audiences connect because they recognise themselves on stage: in the loss, the laughter, the self-sabotage, the SEX, the chaos, and the overwhelming courage it takes to begin again. Homecumming holds space for conversations we don’t often have out loud, while never losing its sense of fun, cheekiness, and hope.

The show has already resonated strongly with Canadian audiences and critics alike, winning Best Narrative at the 2025 Montreal Fringe, earning a Best Text nomination, and receiving two Frankie Award nominations for Most Promising Comedy and Most Promising Production at the 2024 Montreal Fringe.

If you’ve ever felt disconnected from your body, your joy, or yourself — Homecumming is for you.

You can catch Homecumming as part of Adelaide Fringe from Friday 20th February to Tuesday 24th February at The Box at ARTHUR ARTHOUSE from 6pm (45min). Tickets are available through the Adelaide Fringe Online Box Office.
