A play that anyone with a love of, and respect for, the acting profession or just the world of theatre really ought to see.”

A one woman show written by Andy Moseley and performed by Jac Wheble.
Almost Famous follows Emily Benton from her arrival in the UK in 1974 through a glittering career that takes her from Blackpool to Broadway, with stops in the West End and Hollywood for good measure.
In spite of her CV she still finds herself at the bottom of the pile when she returns to the UK and is reduced to auditioning for a part in a regional production that only became available when a better known actor joined the theatre in the sky.
The problem is that no one in the UK knows who Emily is. She’s just a name they may have once seen in a programme somewhere many years ago. Of course, when no one knows you, they also only have your word that you’re telling the truth, and maybe there’s more to Emily than meets the eye.
Dedicated to everyone who never quite made it, however far they got, the play has been described as something that ‘anyone with a love of and respect for the acting profession or just the world of theatre really ought to see’.
Almost Famous premiered at Brighton Fringe and has gone on to be performed at Buxton, Manchester and, of course, Edinburgh where it completed a two-week run at Surgeons’ Hall last month, earning a string of 4 star reviews along the way.
Andy and Jac are delighted to be bringing the play to Dundee Fringe this month.
You can catch Almost Famous as part of Dundee Fringe at Sweet @ Keiller Centre on Friday 19th & Saturday 20th September at 19:00 (55mins). Tickets are available through the Dundee Fringe Online Box Office.
