NEWS: Meet the Shortlisted Nominees for Binge Fringe’s Black Performer’s Awards 2025

The initiative for this award has been launched by Binge Fringe’s Lamesha Ruddock and in collaboration with Blemme Fatale Productions, to celebrate the achievements, contributions, and quality of work presented by Black Performers at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025.

The Binge Fringe review for each shows form the basis for shortlist assessment but star rating is not considered in the criteria. Our shortlist is now to be judged by independent assessors – a panel made up of leading Black journalists and theatre directors. Four awards will be given out at a ceremony to be held on Sunday 24th August at 11am at Pleasance Courtyard – Cabaret Bar. All are welcome to attend.

Lamesha Ruddock

Lamesha Ruddock is a cultural producer, performance artist and historian working across Toronto and London. From a lineage of griots, she is interested in theatre, performance art, immersive live performances and public interventions. She believes the oldest currency in the world is a story; when lost or down on your luck, storytelling garners response.
