Audiences at Adelaide Fringe 2026 are invited to step into a rare fusion of circus, fire, aerial and meditation with A Journey to Euphoria, a 50-minute immersive performance that transforms the stage into a living, breathing meditation.
Created and performed by Queensland-based multidisciplinary artist Rachel Riggall, A Journey to Euphoria guides audiences through the five elements — Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether/Space — using acro, circus flow arts, fire twirling, aerial lyra and silks and LED flow arts. Meditation is woven throughout the performance, inviting the audience to slow down, breathe, and experience the work not just visually, but somatically.
Rather than presenting circus as spectacle alone, the work reframes performance as a shared experience. Each element is carefully balanced and layered, building toward a sense of harmony and emotional release. The result is a show that sits at the intersection of contemporary circus, mindfulness and meditation. Accessible to general audiences while offering something deeper for those seeking connection and presence.
“This show was born from a desire to bring meditation off the mat and onto the stage,” says creator and performer Rachel Riggall. “It’s about giving audiences permission to pause, to feel, and to be carried through the elements into a state of euphoria, together.”
Originally developed for the Brisbane Anywhere Festival and later performed as an opening ceremony at Sol Vibrations Festival, and in Sydney at Roots Women’s Embodiment Festival. A Journey to Euphoria has continued to evolve, expanding its theatricality and technical precision for its Adelaide Fringe season.
You can catch A Journey to Euphoria as part of Adelaide Fringe 2026 from Wednesday 18th March until Sunday 22nd March from 7:20pm at The Bunker at Fool’s Paradise (50min). Tickets are available through the Adelaide Fringe Online Box Office.
