Equal parts ghost story and stand-up, Bailey Swilley’s Gimme a Sign! is a love letter to what has been lost, and the comfort we find in the signs of what remains.
Gimme a Sign! uses wit and a Powerpoint clicker to retell the story of growing up as a white passing mixed-race person and losing her father. She is an excellent comedic storyteller and successfully remains light hearted while covering more intense topics.
Bailey is so deeply likeable. Her love and support of the witch folk community, a community I deeply identify with, is beautiful and genuine in a way that most stand up comedians could not comprehend as they mock those who manifest. This show is for those who aren’t afraid to believe in the signs given to them by the universe, whether that be to heal during a mourning process, as shown with Bailey, or just to choose what to have for lunch.
This show is vulnerable, while still remaining comforting, and it is so so full of love.
Recommended Drink: Pair this with loose tea leaves, and look for a sign within their remains.
Performances of Gimme a Sign! have now concluded at EdFringe 2025.
