Love Did a Number on Me is a funny, sharp and relatable solo show combining original poetry, songs and characters that plots Eve’s meteoric rise from rock bottom to rock middle.

A chronic people pleaser with terrible taste in men, Eve has spent a lifetime chasing the sort of love that’s hard to get, hard to keep and hardly worth the bother. Now if she wants to find the real thing, she’ll need to change more than just her luck…

Join Eve in a world of Just Seventeen, Weightwatchers, romantic dead ends, red flags, delusion, hard truths and enlightenment. And it rhymes.

Writer and performer Eve said: “I learned every love and life lesson the hard way. Now I’ve condensed decades of chaos into 50 minutes of rhyming couplets.”

Victoria Wood meets Pam Ayres meets Brene Brown.

The show had its debut run at the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, following sold-out previews in London and Perth. Eve is a Forward Prize-longlisted poet, inaugural winner of the Howl Poetry Slam, and runner-up at the Scottish National Slam Championships 2026.

Love Did a Number on Me now heads to Dundee Fringe 2026, for two nights only.

Edinburgh Fringe Reviews:

“Mumford’s warmth and vulnerability undoubtedly make this a delightful debut.” The Scotsman

“An engaging performer” with “a sparky sense of humour,” Eve Mumford “is a woman who is worth watching” Broadway Baby

You can catch Love Did a Number on Me at The Library, Sweet@The Steps Theatre on September 12th from 14:15 & September 15th from 17:15 (50mins). Tickets are available through the Dundee Fringe Online Box Office.
