REVIEW: Katie Boyle: Roe v. Wade versus Katie, EdFringe 2025 ★★★★

An excellently executed hour of comedy about Katie Boyle and how reproductive rights have followed her her entire life.

Being born in Catholic Ireland and ending up in Trump’s America. Katie explores reproductive rights within her lifespan and how they have effected her personally due to an accidental pregnancy she found herself with when she was 34. Katie is as funny as she is educational, providing a plethora of facts about contraception and pregnancy that I had never been taught as a person with a uterus, including that Plan B does not work if you are ovulating when you take it, an important fact that anyone who could get pregnant should know, but if you’re anything like me, you do not know.

Katie’s comedy is dark, but she never makes the audience feel uncomfortable. She discusses intensly the process of getting an abortion, the history behind illegal abortions and the culture the abortion debate has created, and yet she remains hillarious and enticing.

Katie Boyle is an excellent comedian and I am excited to have her in my radar going forward, this is an exciting Fringe debut.

Recommended Drink: Pair this with a Pint and Plan B.

Performances of Katie Boyle: Roe v. Wade versus Katie have now concluded at EdFringe 2025.
