A complete and utter free fringe delight.
The Mathemagician is an excellent character comedy from Emily Jeffers, who has arrived to teach the audience about the magic of math and unveil the solution to lifes biggest questions, the ones math just cant fix.
Emily Jeffers is, undoubtadly, one of the funniest people in Edinburgh, and after seeing her show Bitty Bat last year, this show was one of my most anticipated of the fringe this year. In both this and Bitty Bat she throws herself, heart, soul and all into the character. Her characters are fantastically silly and I love them so much.
The Mathemagician plays with the crowd from the moment you enter the space, he is the the stupidest genius you will ever meet. From math based puns to the power of a comedic stare, this show had me laughing until my stomach hurt.
If I had one criticism for this show, it would be that I wanted more of it, I could watch the Mathemagician for hours and never get bored.
Recommended Drink: Pair this with something you can’t spill, because you’ll be laughing too much to keep it steady.
Performances of The Mathemagician have now concluded at EdFringe 2025.
