Lauren, Nat, and Chloe are young adults. They are going through big changes in their lives. And they are autistic. Lauren is a uni student who discovers she may be autistic when researching for an essay. She then has to go through the process of reevaluating her life, and telling the people around her, including her parents and girlfriend. Nat has been unlucky in love, until he meets the neurotypical Sophie who is everything he wants in a girl. Chloe is struggling with bullying at school, and the strain on her relationship with her best friend Liv, because of Liv’s sudden rise in popularity. We encounter love, loss, friendship, mental health and more in this new musical.

Written by upcoming female autistic writer, Leonora Brooks, I’m Autistic – A New Musical was created with the intention of providing much needed accurate representation of autism, to tell the sides of the stories that are often left out. Whether you are neurodivergent, know someone who is, or just want to learn more, this show is for you. Starring upcoming neurodivergent performers Olivia Jenkins as Chloe, Liberty Ashford as Lauren, and Gabriel Phelan as Nat, and a host of phenomenal performers creating the world around them, including Morgan Phillips (Babies) and Travis George (The A Word). With comedy, heartfelt moments and more, coupled with music reminiscent of Dear Evan Hansen and Waitress, this show is a great choice for any musical lover.
