REVIEW: Sexy Circus Sideshow 3.0, International Fringe Burlesque Festival, EdFringe 2026 ★★★★

Now, that was sexy!

A kaleidoscope of entertainment from pole dancing, to live magic, to chair choreography, to skilful juggling and hula hooping, to nipple pasties on fire, to hair hanging – you’ll be hooting and stamping to an abundance of jaw dropping moments.

Sexy Circus Sideshow 3.0 is an absolute riot, bringing together world-class performers from Glasgow to New Zealand.

A powerful assembly of talented performers rooted in the historical context of the sideshow. A sideshow, which became popular in the United States in the late 19th century, was a supplementary exhibition to a main circus performance. Sexy Circus Sideshow 3.0 is most definitely the main attraction, from fierce, playful dominant women, to suave storytellers luring the audience in.

Sexy Circus Sideshow 3.0 is rooted in trust and respect. Trust from the audience to provide reciprocal energy towards the performers, trust in the expertise of the performers and the team to keep themselves (and us) safe; we’re playing with fire here!

We were blessed with alluring, sensual pole dancing from Lavender to begin with, paired with a gorgeous tartan one-piece. Then an explosive Murican hoop performance from Ellie Steingraeber that brought the energy. We all slowly turned into pyromaniacs as we became enthralled by Oblivion’s fire performance and hair hanging spectacle accompanied by bouncy house music and pulsing lights.

What a sensational treat to be introduced to Adam B, whose magic performance had us covering our eyes and mouth in shock. We also got a taste of the MC Paul Klaass’s showmanship and ability to excite the audience, featuring his own juggling act.

Huge congratulations to the brave audience member taking on the fabulous assistant role. Like a phoenix with powerful bird-like sound design, we were mesmerised by Birdie’s chair choreography needing such impressive body control. Djerry Can displayed an undeniably dominant energy, with an LED whip that’ll straighten you right into shape for all the masochists out there.

If you’re looking for an empowered evening filled with women who know their divinity and entertainers who know how to reel an audience in, then look no further.

Sexy, Spellbinding, Scrumptious. Sexy Circus Sideshow 3.0 is the apex of late night at the Fringe.

Recommended Drink: Fire Cider Tonic.

You can catch Sexy Circus Sideshow 3.0 at Assembly George Square Gardens from August 18-30 at 17:55 (60mins). Tickets are available through the EdFringe Online Box Office.
