REVIEW: Do All The Things, A&E Comedy, EdFringe 2025 ★★★★★

Feel like you haven’t done all the things? A&E Comedy have got you covered. Not only can you enjoy some quirky sketches, but you can also work together as a team of ticket holders to tick everything off on your ‘Thingo Card’!

As you spot things like ‘Muff’ and ‘Sturdy Brogues’, and do things like ‘Peg Someone’ (not like that) and ‘Learn a Dance Routine’, Do All The Things becomes one giant game. Abigail and Emma (A&E Comedy) keep up the entertainment with several double acts, each one more hilarious than the last.

Between each absurdly funny section, we join the pair in their dressing room via a CCTV camera, providing a clever yet amusing behind-the-scenes look at their process. It’s here that we witness a brilliant interaction about how ‘doing all the things’ basically equals feminism. Girl Power!

Despite this peek behind-the-curtain, I fear I will never be able to truly understand how Abigail and Emma’s wonderful brains work. To come up with such silly, precise, layered comedic ideas is a gift that only a handful of performers are blessed with. When I grow up (I’m 24…), I want to be like them.

Do All The Things is also one of those sneaky cheeky shows that catches your inner child unawares. Yes, there is a lot of self-deprecation, a lot of goofing around, but there is an enthusiastic attempt to get us to connect with those around us. People we’ve never met before, but leave having made amazing memories together. It’s secretly quite beautiful.

In a world that encourages us to sever our connections with one another, A&E Comedy are striving to do the opposite. Reminding us what it is to feel human, to laugh with one another, to experience collective joy, all with strangers. What’s more, we ended up doing a big group conga onstage with our hosts. That’s worth five stars in and of itself.

So much of this show is incredibly hard to explain due to its nonsensical nature, so you’d best get down to Assembly Checkpoint and Do All the Things, and then do a few more.

Recommended Drink: A fishbowl cocktail so I can drink it with all the new friends I made during this show.

You can catch Do All the Things at Checkpoint at Assembly Checkpoint from Aug 15-25 at 14:45. Tickets are available through the EdFringe Online Box Office.
