REVIEW: (No) Refunds, For the Fun, EdFringe 2025 ★★★★

(No) Refunds, is an unexpected, playful game show that left me thinking how many refunds have actually been issued.  This is a vibrant, interactive performance that blends game show absurdity with heartfelt storytelling, inviting the audience to witness the highs and lows of live performance while celebrating the spirit of the Edinburgh Fringe.

Tiffany Gold, a Southern American belle, and her trusty stage manager, Alex, invite a star player to join (No) Refunds. This was the fabulous Sam Hyre from the World’s Greatest Lover. What starts as a ridiculous game show to win back the price of a ticket grows into something tender and real, capturing the challenges and joys of bringing a show to Edinburgh and sharing your soul with the audience.

(No) Refunds brilliantly responds to the here and now, cupping on the fires at Arthur’s Seat, steered by a dedicated duo who hold space for the star player to shine. Tiffany Gold and Alex create a world where absurdity, care, and kindness coexist deepening genuine human connection. 

Tiffany and Alex guide the game with poise and undeniable charm. Tiffany Gold, wearing a full-length sequined red dress, silk white gloves, and perfectly hairsprayed blonde hair, delivers southern hospitality, deadpan wit, and nimble improvisation, keeping the audience hooked and the star player comfortable. Alex sets the pace, guiding cue cards, applause, and game choices, assertive yet caring like any great stage manager, with a box of tissues never far and playful energy at the ready.

From moments where loved ones’ positivity and love fill the room, to a comedy set turned improv which flows effortlessly into moments of deep vulnerability. Together, Tiffany, Alex, and the Star Player create an emotional journey that touches deeply through genuine storytelling and unbridled competitiveness.
